Research essay: Human cloning (1st paragragh)

Human reproductive cloning is an assisted reproductive technology that would be carried out with creating a newborn genetically identical to another human being (Prentice, 2003). Since Dolly, the first cloned sheep, was born in 1997, live cloned offspring or transgenic animals have been produced by Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) in eleven species (Goo Jang & Min Kyu Kim, 2010). In order for SCNT to be successful, every step, from oocyte maturation, enucleation, micro-injection of the donor cell, activation, and in vitro culture to embryo transfer and birth of cloned offspring, must be very well harmonized (Goo Jang & Min Kyu Kim, 2010).
